Frequently Asked Questions

Is it really free?

As free as the sea. You won't be asked for payment information when you sign up.

What's the catch?

The catch is that I have text ads for the free tier and priced models are there to keep this service afloat. I don't sell your data to anyone else.

To be transparent, I personally use this service to simplify my previous stack for tracking keywords: Google Alerts (doesn't track social sites), Syften (expensive), and F5Bot (outdated UX, no analytics).

What sites are monitored?

KeywordsPal monitors all content on Bluesky, Reddit, Hacker News, and Lobste.rs, including both post submissions and comments. More coming soon!

Does it look at comments too?

You bet! KeywordsPal dives deep and scans both submissions and comments across all supported platforms.

Are keywords/phrases case-sensitive?

Nope. Keywords and phrases will match regardless of capitalization.

How can I test that it works?

Easy as a swim downstream! You can post your keyword or phrase on Reddit in the subreddit. You should expect an email from KeywordsPal a couple minutes after you do.

What are the limits?

Free accounts can monitor up to 10 keywords, while Pro accounts can track up to 100 keywords. Teams accounts have unlimited keywords - room for the whole otter family!

Common words like "the", "it", "and", "or", "but", etc. are automatically filtered out to reduce noise. Email notifications are batched and sent every 5 minutes to keep your inbox from getting too cluttered.

Will you support more sites in the future?

Yep - working on more rss feeds and product hunt at the moment. Looking to expand our reach across the sea of social content! Email me at [email protected] with any suggestions - I'll read every single one.
